Johor Bahru (JB) is the capital city of Johor in southern West
Malaysia. It is a place that I’m pretty familiar with for the past 20 years of
my life. It is my kampung and a place that I actually call home. Yeap, that's right! Well, for the past few years I have grown to love my country. Despite
her flaws and slow development, I'm still proud to be called a Malaysian! I love
her diversity, her culture and most importantly the people.
Here's 5 facts for you:
- JB was founded in 1855 by Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim
- It started off as a small Malay fishing village
- Japan invaded Johor Bahru on 31 January 1942
- It is now one of the Iskandar Malaysia Flagship Zone
- Only a bridge away from Singapore
With all the latest development like the Iskandar Project, this humble little city has definitely been growing and developing. Well, slowly but surely. It has been attracting lots of foreign investments and no doubt that in the coming days, JB's quality of life would definitely be much better.\
I’m glad to be back from Hong Kong and I definitely can’t
wait to have fun and live life to the fullest!
